a short break..

Hello again, I recently went away for a short break to the Yorkshire dales to stay in a lovely, old town called Richmond. It was only for 2 days but boy was it worth it! I felt so relaxed and comfortable, away from all the mad rush and day-to-day worries, it just felt nice to get away for a while.

My parents were the ones who decided to go so they went off a couple of days before my boyfriend and I joined them to stay in a gorgeous lodge next to a little lake. We set off on the Friday night (so we could stay an extra night) and then spent both Saturday and Sunday there.

Day 1

Unfortunately, on the Saturday morning we woke up to the pouring rain so the view of the lake was a little dull however still beautiful. It did manage to clear up by lunch time though so me and mum went into Richmond to do some shopping and go for lunch whilst my dad and boyfriend went fishing in the river, in which I believe they thoroughly enjoyed! When they had dropped us off we dug into all the small, cute shops that Richmond has until we found one shop called 'Lemon x' (they do have an online website, so do type them in and have a nosey!) It was divine. In the end we did have a bit of a splurge but everyone needs to treat themselves every once in a while! The shop had manly clothes and jewellery which were ALL beautiful and so so unique, which is why I think we loved it so much. We then went for lunch at a pub which was really nice inside and which I'm quite annoyed at myself for not taking pictures! Anyway, we ended up having some drinks and even getting chatted up by the waiter, who was actually super helpful and charming (bless him). The rest of the day was spent relaxing and snuggling up in front of the fire whilst watching TV with my lovely boyfriend.

Pure bliss!

Richmond.

Day 2

Sunday. We went out altogether on the Sunday for a walk around Richmond castle, which was nice and still quite relaxing. For lunch we had some fish and chips (yum!) and since I don't usually have them at home it was a nice little treat. After that we had another look around Richmond whilst being together and my boyfriend found a little sweet shop which wasn't good news as he and my dad nearly bought the entirety of the shop. We also bought scones as a little treat before we left. We then went back to the lodge to make the most of it and really just chilled out and watched a film which lead up to it being home time... I honestly didn't want to leave but had to. :(

*wishes to be back*

This post may seem like a boring one to some but sometimes you need a little break away to escape reality and to fully let yourself relax which is why I wanted to share this as a little reminder. Even if it's not possible to go away, give yourself some 'you' time and just completely relax, honestly, it helps!

Thank you for reading and hope you enjoyed, I should be posting again soon!

25 questions: get to know me!

So usually people would be tagged in something to do the 25 questions tag, I haven't been tagged but I really fancied doing this as a little 'get to know me' post. I combined a few of the different questions from a few different '25 questions tags' on tumblr so I hope you enjoy!

Nice nails

One of my favourite beauty items (out of SO many) is nail polish. I especially love the Topshop nail polish range due to the cute bottle design and amazing range of colours!

I actually don't have LOADS of these because they are a little expensive but I still like them a lot. Also, I don't know if they still sell some of these but if not they have similar colours!

I knew that I wanted to try something different with my nails when I bought these two so I thought the idea of 'crackle' and 'matte' nails sounded quite fun (not together though)
  • Black crackle nails - in 'chaos theory' - £6
  • Yellow matte nails - in 'cushy' - £6

Green is one of my fave colours so these really caught my eye, one of them was in the sale too - yey!

  • Darker shade - in 'overcast' - £1 (WOW!!)
  • Lighter shade - in 'gone fishing' - £5

Pink pink pink! Again, probably my favourite colour! These were both in the sale also. They both have a shimmery effect to them too, making them perfect for special occasions or just going out!

  • Darker shade - in 'blitz' - £1
  • Lighter shade - in 'beam' - £1

Perfect for spring/summer!

  • Orange - in 'mover n shaker' - £5
  • Yellow - in 'bee's knees' - £5

I use this mainly as a top coat over black and other colours however it could also be used on its own but would need a few layers to build up full coverage.

  • 'circus' - £6

So that's my collection of Topshop nail polish. Please leave any comments letting me know about your favourites as I would love to know! Thanks for reading!

February favourites!

I've decided to gather a few of my fave items that I have been using frequently throughout the month of February and have very much enjoyed... maybe you could even try them out for yourself!

Naked Flushed palette in 'Streak'

Naked Flushed palette in 'Streak' by Urban Decay - £22.50

This super gorgeous palette contains a bronzer, highlighter AND blush, all in one! (I know, amazing, right?) When I first saw this I did believe it was a little pricey although I'm a sucker for expensive make up and so made a spontaneous decision to buy it. I made a good choice in doing so too! It really does provide a good contour and looks great for both going out and everyday make up. You don't have to use a lot so it does go a long way, it's packaging is pretty too, 100% recommend!

Yankee Candle - Vanilla Cupcake

Vanilla Cupcake by Yankee Candle: Small jar - £7.99

Okay, so for a candle, this may seem pretty expensive however it smells AMAZING. It quite literally smells like a vanilla cupcake, it's so sweet and yummy! However, if you are not one for the sweet smells then this may be quite overpowering (sorry!) as you do get a strong hint of the buttery icing but if you do like the sweet scents then it's delicious!

Ted Baker soap

LOVE LOVE LOVE

I do have to admit, I didn't buy this for myself and it did come in a gift set (hence having no price) but boy, does this smell good. I was even lucky enough to get two of these gift sets, yippee! Looks like I won't be needing soap for a while...

The Body Shop - Pink grapefruit hand cream

Pink grapefruit hand cream (mini) by The Body Shop - £3.50

I have always been told that the body shop's hand creams are lovely so I thought I would give one a go! The pink grapefruit scent in this reminds me of a warm summers day, and gets me all excited for spring and summer. It's so lovely and soothing on your hands and even though it's a mini one, it definitely goes a long way. It's also non-greasy, making it so much nicer.

Lush - 'Pearl' massage bar

'Pearl' massage bar by Lush - £6.50

Never have I ever tried a massage bar before I got this one and I was certainly missing out! I am a HUGE fan of Lush and this is definitely something that I'll be buying again. It smells like roses (my fave) and is really soothing on the skin, it's lovely! Although Lush products are a little bit extra in price, they don't test on animals, which is great, go Lush!

So that's my February favourites, if you have any questions about any of these products please don't hesitate to ask!
